Here are some illustrations for a book about Ancient Rome. It is only a small excerpt. More to come soon!! In case you are interest in the book, it is available at the German Supermarket Lidl. Just in case, you live in Germany. But It may be useful, if you can understand German. There are lots of pictures and illustrations (by me!!), but the informations are also very interesting. Haastadler / Haast's Eagle

Ich hoffe, Ihr seid nicht böse, wenn ich einfach nur den Link zum Wikipediaartikel zum Haastadler setze. Mag heute nicht viel schreiben.

Baiiji oder Chinesische Flußdelfin / Yangtse River Dolphin

Ein weiterer Kandidat für meine Lost Zoo Serie. Der im Jangtsekiang Chinesische Flußdelfin wurde zuletzt 2002 gesichtet. 2006/2007 wurden Expeditionen unternommen auf der Suche nach verbliebenen Exemplaren. Doch trotz weiterer -unbestätigter- Sichtungen, konnten keine Restbestände, des damals schon seltensten Säugetieres der Welt nachgewiesen werden. Der Chinesische Flußdelfin hatte zum Schluss nur noch einen Bestand von ca. 23 Individuen. Da nun keine weiteren bestätigten Sichtungen seit 2002 erfolgten, gilt die Art als funktionell ausgestorben. Gründe für das Aussterben dürften in der Fischerei, Umfweltverschmutzung und eventuell im Bau des 3-Schluchten-Dammes liegen.

A new candidate for my Lost Zoo Series. The Yangtsekiang River Dolphin was last sighted in 2002. In 2006/2007 there were held expeditions in search of remaining river dolphins. But no dolphins were found, even there had been -unconfirmed- sightings in 2006/2007. Back then, the dolphin was said to be the rarest mammal on earth. It had only a population of appr. 23 animals at last. Because since 2002 there where not further confirmed sightings, the species is said to be functional extinct. Reasons for the extinction may lie in the fishing industry, pollution and maybe the building of the Three Gorges Dam.

Tarpan 2

Hier ist eine zweite Version von einem Tarpan. Dem Tarpan wurde nachgesagt, dass er Hauspferdestuten entführt und mit den Hengsten bis zum Tod kämpft. Was wohl auch mit einer der Gründe war, weshalb Tarpane bis zur Ausrottung gejagt wurden.

Here is a second version of a tarpan. It was said about the tarpan, that the abducted domestic horse mares and fought with the stallions till their death. This may have been one of the reasons, why tarpans were hunted till their extinction.

Eine kleine Reiseskizze/A small Travel Sketch

Als ich zu meinen Eltern über Neujahr gefahren bin, sah ich vom Zug aus viele, viele Rehe, einen Fasan im Flug und natürlich viele Krähen. Das musste in einer kleinen Reiseskizze festgehalten werden.

P.S. Vielen Dank übrigens an alle, die für mein Design bei threadless gevoted haben. Leider hat es das Design nicht geschafft, aber ich habe mich über Jede Stimme gefreut!!

When I traveled to my parents for New Year's Eve, I saw lots of deers, one flying pheasant and of course lots of crows. That has to be sketched.
