Was ich neulich gegessen habe/ What I ate recently

Nichts wirklich Ernsthaftes. Aber ich mag den Konstrast zwischen Muster und eher realistisch gezeichnetem Fisch. Entstanden, als ich neulich Fisch essen war. Andere Leute fotografieren ihr Essen und ich zeichne es gewissermaßen im Rohzustand. Vielleicht sollte ich das Gleiche machen, wenn ich demnächst ein Schnitzel esse.

Nothing really extraordinary. But I like the contrast between the pattern and the more realistic drawn fish. I did the drawing when I was out eating fish recently. Other people photograph their food, I make drawings of the food in their raw state. Maybe I should make another drawing in similar style when I eat schnitzel.

Hans im Glück/Hans in Luck

Neue Arbeitsproben von mir für den Burgergrill "Hans im Glück". Beauftragt waren fünf Illustrationen schwarzweiß zu dem Märchen Hans im Glück.

Gedanken / Thoughts

Eigentlich wollte ich diese Zeichnung zusammen mit einer anderen -ähnlichen- Zeichnung hochladen. Aber die zweite Zeichnung wird noch ein bißchen SEHR VIEL länger brauchen. Ich wollte hier mal wieder mit keltischen Mustern arbeiten und diese in eher surreale Motive einarbeiten. Wie ich schon früher gesagt habe, mag ich es gerne keltische Knoten auch etwas experimenteller einzusetzen.

Originally, I intended to upload this drawing together with another -similar- drawing. But as the second drawing will take a little VERY MUCH more longer, I decided to upload already the first one. I just wanted to work again with celtic patterns and put them in a bit surreal motive. As I said in the past, I like to work with celtic knots in a not so traditional way and do more experimental things with them.

Tanuki, Fuchs und Koimädchen / Tanuki, Fox and Koigirl

Ich war kürzlich wieder in meinem Lieblingsrestaurant Sushi essen. Es hat mich zu diesen Skizzen inspiriert. Der Marderhund oder Tanuki ist eine traditionelle Figur in Japan. Er kann sich verwandeln und ist dem Sake sehr zugeneigt. Und meistens ist er zu Schabernack aufgelegt. Die Sache mit den Hoden hab ich jetzt mal weggelassen. Der Fuchs ist ein Attribut des Reisgottes Inari. Aber der Reisgott kann auch durchaus als weißer Fuchs auftreten. Koimädchen ist mehr oder minder meine Erfindung. Allerdings gibt es in Japan auch viele Geschichten über Seejungfrauen. Die sind aber weniger lieblich.

Ich was recently in my favorite restaurant to eat some sushi. And it inspired me to do these sketches. The raccoondog or tanuki is a traditional figure in japanese folklore. He is able to shapeshift and likes Sake. And more often he likes to play tricks.  I left the thing with his balls out.  The fox is an attribute of the rice god Inari. But the rice god can also appear in the shape of a white fox. The Koigirl is more or less a design by me. But there are lots of tales about nixes or seamaids in Japan. But these are not always so lovely.
